God is outside of time, bound neither by beginning nor end. He is the Great I AM, the eternal One who was, who is, and who is to come. Life on this planet is somewhat like a parade. While we sit on a street corner watching life’s floats and marching bands pass by, God views from above, seeing the entire parade route from beginning to end. He sees from eternal past to eternal future.
God has a masterplan with a beginning, a middle and an end, simply so us earthlings, bound by time and space, can understand! The question is: Do we understand the time and season in which we live?
Time is ticking, and from an earthly perspective, we’re about to see the end of the parade. How do we know? Because end times Bible prophecy is being fulfilled right before our very eyes. To understand the time and season in which we live, we look to Israel who, indeed, holds the keys to our understanding of end times.
Just as Jesus foretold, the Israelites were led into captivity, but only for a limited time. After 2,000 years of dispersal around the globe, the Jewish people returned to their land and the nation was reborn in 1948. Since 1967, Jerusalem has been reunited. Israel must be back in the land in order for end time events to occur, and so they are and the stage is set.
Jerusalem is being trampled by Gentiles until the time of the Gentiles are fulfilled (Luke 21:24), but later in the parade route, all Israel will be saved (Romans 11:26). Prophets such as Zechariah, Isaiah and Ezekiel paint the picture of what end times will be like in between those two events (as well as events prior to and after those things).
Yes, Israel holds the keys, but the parade route is revealed through the words of Israel’s prophets! So, here is an idea: When you read Bible prophecy, take note of those things that are yet to be fulfilled. Doing so will give you bearing as to where you sit on the parade route and what you can expect in coming attractions!
Meanwhile:
2 …look[ing] unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
~Hebrews 12:2
28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
~Luke 21:28
13 …looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.
~Titus 2:13
As the parade of life passes by, look to the Eternal One who is soon to come for us!
