With all her pitfalls and missteps, America is still the most richly-blessed nation on planet earth. Not because we the people are so wonderful and great, but because just as God chose Israel for a very specific mission (to be the vehicle of world redemption), God also chose America to be the conduit of His loving faithfulness. To prove it, He empowered our forefathers to found our nation on Christian principals and, for decades, America was the shining light on a hill, spreading the Gospel around the world.
Yes, America is very quickly walking away from the favor of God, but even still, people from around the world do unimaginable things to get here.
Today, let’s be reminded of the profound wisdom exhibited by our founding fathers, expressed in their own words. I readily acknowledge that this struck me, not from some powerful sermon, but from a monologue presented by Brian Kilmeade, an American patriot who happens to be in media. If you want to see and hear his monologue, you will find it in a 4.5-minute segment beginning at 0:55 of this clip.
Otherwise, allow me to summarize his main points:
One concern of our founding fathers was government spending and fiscal responsibility. Yes, from the earliest of days men like Ben Franklin warned of the over-reliance on debt. Thomas Jefferson had this to say about it:

Here we are 250 years later, spending as if there is no tomorrow. The point is: even at America’s founding it was clear that great national debt would be detrimental, if not catastrophic, for our country. The forethought and wisdom of those great men amaze me!
Our founding fathers also valued education. Check out what George Washington had to say:

Interesting that he used the word “manly.” Amazingly, we have eviscerated manhood in America. It is not true of all men, as I know some very “manly men,” but in society as a whole, look around and see the evidence of warfare against men. Then put it in context of our education system where kids are taught that drag queens are normal! (And that’s only one example.) We would be so very wise to heed what George Washington knew way back in the 1700’s!
Today, there is incredible infighting among Americans. How did it happen? Don’t think for a moment our founding fathers didn’t wrestle with that thought in the very beginning…when there were no political parties. Political parties were not mentioned in the Constitution, but it only took a few short years for our nation to divide itself into competing parties and look what we have today: immense polarization and hatred of Americans toward other Americans. We’re no longer “on the same team,” doing battle against America’s enemies, but rather doing battle against ourselves. Consider John Adams and George Washington’s warnings against political polarization:

We can all name some “cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men (and women)” in each party who work to subvert the power of the people! What tremendous wisdom was shown by our forefathers!
But, at the forefront of concern for our founding fathers as they put together this great republic was the safety and security of our country, and the defense of it.

Alexander Hamilton voiced what many others believed: the government they ultimately founded was wholly and completely responsible for our national security. A strong country demands a strong defense, focused on the ability to win wars (not on what pronouns we use). I think our elected officials have forgotten that.
Of course, George Washington hit the nail on the head when he said:

Indeed, a nation who invests in its military and is always prepared for war rarely has to use it because it is a powerful deterrent. Oh, how I long for the days of a powerful military. How about you? (The men and women who serve as our fighting forces are as strong as ever. It is military leadership coupled with woke policies that have diminished our military might and prestige.)
America used to confront problems, now we ignore them or cover them up, or worse still, complain and do nothing more. That just won’t sustain a nation who wants to be strong. In times past, as America took responsibility for our nation and the well-being of all others, we were strong. Today, we have waltzed away from this idea:

In Brian Kilmeade’s words: “It is never passe to be patriotic. In fact, it is more necessary than ever, and it is not going to happen naturally. It is going to happen consciously, and we have to go back to being proud Americans. We owe it to the people who came before us.“
Amen to that…and very well said. America is indeed worth fighting for, so let’s heed the words of those wise men who founded our country! Our battle for the soul of our nation is not over until Jesus returns to take us (believers) out of here. Christian friend, be encouraged today! Stand up for America. Fight for our liberties and make a difference in your sphere of influence!
Blessed 4th of July! God bless the United States of America!
