Hi everyone!  What in the World is Going On? got off to a great start on Sunday with classes at both Northwest Campus and Central Campus of Calvary Community Church!

We took a look at all that is going on in the world today in light of Bible passages such as Matthew 24:3-8:

As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.

Indeed, today’s world is filled with false teachers/messiahs, wars, rumors of wars, famines, earthquakes and more.  Matthew 24:8 tells us these things are the beginning of birth pains.

Over the next two weeks we will study “Mystery Babylon,” described in Revelation 17-18. This coming Sunday (9/24/17) will focus on the False Prophet and the rise of One World Religion, followed by the Antichrist and One World Government the following Sunday (10/1/17).

Meanwhile, we are reminded that Bible prophecy is not meant to scare, but to prepare!  God’s Word promises that those of us who follow Jesus Christ will be spared from the wrath that is to come (1 Thessalonians 1:10).  However, to be prepared for the return of our Bridegroom, we must know and understand the season in which we live.
