For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent,
And for Jerusalem’s sake I will not keep quiet,
Until her righteousness goes forth like brightness,
And her salvation like a torch that is burning.On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen;
All day and all night they will never keep silent.
You who remind the Lord, take no rest for yourselves;
And give Him no rest until He establishes
And makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
~Isaiah 62:1, 6-7
Genesis 12:3 tells us that those who bless Israel will be blessed, while those who curse Israel will be cursed. Though there are many ways to bless Israel (some suggested here), prayer is something everyone can do, so I want to point you in that direction today!
The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem launched the Isaiah 62 Prayer Initiative in order to spark a global movement of prayer for Israel. Though individual prayer warriors may sign up and pray, the greater impact occurs when like-minded believers come together to pray corporately as the the body of Christ.
Prayer groups have been established all over the world. If there is no group in your area, why not start one? ICEJ makes it simple and will provide you with the resources necessary to lead a prayer group. The process starts by simply committing to pray, then receiving information about leading a prayer group.
I am extremely excited that a friend who was encouraged by the Looking for the Blessed Hope Bible Study (see left sidebar) has committed to facilitate an Isaiah 62 prayer group at Calvary Community Church in Phoenix AZ. If you are in the Phoenix area, I encourage you to be involved in the Isaiah 62 prayer group which meets the first Wednesday of every month, beginning January 6. (Click the link above for complete information and directions.)
Let’s “give Him no rest until He establishes and makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.” Hope to see you there!
