Hamas Rearming and Rebuilding; Israel Preparing for Multi-Front Invasions

Hi friends!  As we study about the Palestinian problem and terrorism this week, we are reminded by current news that Hamas is alive and well, preparing for future conflicts in and around the Gaza Strip.  Following the destruction of over 30 terror tunnels during last summer’s Gaza conflict, Hamas resumed rebuilding those tunnels by October.  This weekend, news broke that Hamas is also building roads near the border with Israel in preparation for “a convenient time to attack Israel.”

Hamas - Gaza, W BankMeanwhile, Israel has announced that they will conduct drills simulating a multi-front conflict this week.  Currently, Egypt and Jordan are engaged in peace treaties with Israel.  However, look at the map to the right.  Within Israel’s borders, they contend with Hamas and the Palestinians in the tiny Gaza Strip (small orange area), and with the Palestinian Authority (and to some degree, Hamas) in the West Bank (larger orange area).  Both are hostile toward Israel.

In addition, Lebanon and the terrorist group, Hezbollah, lie directly to the north of Israel, and Syria lies to the northeast.  ISIS militants, the Assad regime, and various rebel groups are all wrestling for control of Syria…and Iran is pouring money and resources into Shi’ite forces there.

We all know Iran’s ambitions to become nuclear-capable, and their sites are set on Israel as well.  For sure, Israel has their hands full!  Thus, it is no surprise that the IDF and Home Front Command are preparing for a multi-front conflict.

If you are following along with our study, Looking for the Blessed Hope, you will find significant insight into those terrorist groups this week!  We shouldn’t be surprised by what we see in current events…they are simply lining up with Bible prophecy!  Keep your eyes on the news…and enjoy this week’s study!
