It is next to impossible to hear or read news today that doesn’t include radical Islamic content. Here are some headlines from this week:
- ‘What are you waiting for?’: Slick new ISIS campaign puts new face on homegrown terror
- Kerry rules out extension of Iran nuclear talks
- Fate of ISIS’s US Hostage Unknown, Experts ‘Skeptical’ of Terror Group’s Claim
- Hamas accuses the Palestinian Authority of instigating unrest in Gaza
It all seems so “far away,” but is it?
Here in Arizona, there is tremendous concern about Kayla Mueller, the aid worker kidnapped and held by ISIS, and allegedly killed in air raids last week. Vigils are being held in her hometown and there is plenty of local TV coverage. Part of the coverage included an interview with a representative of the Arizona State University Muslim Liberty Project lamenting the stigma the event is placing on the Islamic faith.
The truth is that there are Muslim Student Associations (MSA) and Students for Justice in Palestine (JSP) organizations on many American university campuses, most (if not all) are supported financially by known terrorist groups. These groups stage protests, invite polished speakers to promote radical ideology, and, of course, take every opportunity to recruit young people to join the ranks of terrorist groups. Homegrown cells are sprouting up all over the country, and are thriving in certain places.
Indeed, Islamist are targeting the US, and our university campuses are a major doorway through which they are entering. Here’s a 4-minute look at their activity:
It has frequently been said by many that, if we fail to address the threat of radical Islam on their own soil, they will bring the threat to ours. Americans, it is happening. Christians, are you engaged in the battle?
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
~Ephesians 6:12
(Shortly after writing this article, Kayla Mueller was confirmed dead by her family and the US government. Please pray for Kayla’s family. May her death open the eyes of many to the need for salvation. Also, please pray for wisdom for world leaders as they deal with terrorists and other evil regimes.)
