Join Me for the “Shake it Up” Prayer Event

Hey friends, are you ready to “shake it up?”  I’ll explain, then will invite you to join me for the “Shake it Up” Prayer Event.

Looking for the Blessed Hope exists to help put today’s events into context of end time prophecies, and to encourage believers to be ready for our Bridegroom’s return!  In a world growing increasingly chaotic, it is easy to lose sight of the fact that God is always in control, and that He invites us to be a part of what He is doing.  I want to stay focused on that, don’t you?

Over many weeks, I have sensed the burden to be a part of what He is doing.  Simultaneously, I was studying the book of Acts and realized that “pray/prayer” are mentioned 29 times in the first 16 chapters of Acts, and one verse in particular caught my attention:

And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken…
~Acts 4:31

Already tuned into the prayer theme, I was excited about how Jesus displays His power when people pray!   On top of that, I have focused frequently on Jesus’ admonition to us to know the times and the season.  Here is that admonition from Luke 21:29-32, 36:

Then He told them a parable: “Behold the fig tree and all the trees; as soon as they put forth leaves, you see it and know for yourselves that summer is now near.  So you also, when you see these things happening, recognize that the kingdom of God is near.  Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all things take place….But keep on the alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

Okay…follow me here!  We look at the signs of the season, particularly Israel being back in their land as prophesied in Ezekiel 36-37, and we know that the kingdom of God, indeed, is near.  We don’t know the day or the hour, but we are living in that season! Thus, the Lord says, “Keep on the alert and pray!”

Now, to our verse in Acts 4:31:  And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken.  You see, we are to pray, then eagerly await the Lord to “shake things up!”  Friends, we may not be together physically in one place, but we are together in spirit regarding the condition of our world, and the desire to be ready for our Lord’s return.  I believe God wants to “shake things up,” but is waiting for our obedience in prayer.  Thus….the “Shake it Up” Prayer Event!

There are three key prayer points the Lord has impressed upon me:

  • Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem
  • Prayer for Persecuted Believers
  • Prayer for a Third Great Awakening in our Nation that will Impact the World

It is my prayer that the event brings people together from all over the world to pray during the week of Thanksgiving, culminating on the Friday after Thanksgiving (November 28, 2014).  It is an “internet gathering,” not a physical one (unless some of you wish to gather together to pray), so the event will take place via this blog.  Monday – Thursday will be preparation days for Friday’s concentrated prayer.  I’m committing the equivalent of a work day (8:00am – 5:00pm) to pray and fast, though you may choose your own level of participation.  You’ll hear more about the preparation days and the timing of Friday’s prayer and fasting in the next few days, so drop in each day for more information.

So, are you with me?  If so, will you also invite others to join us?  I would absolutely love to see hundreds of prayer warriors all over the world each day “shaking it up” with us!  Please share the link to Looking for the Blessed Hope on your social media outlets or by email.

Check back for more details.  I look forward to “shaking it up” with you next week.
