Happy Lord’s Day, friends! I hope you are enjoying a wonderful day of worship and fellowship with other believers. However, as we freely worship the Lord Jesus Christ in our nation, there are those all over the world who are tortured, maimed and killed for their faith in Jesus Christ. We know from current news that ISIS is rampantly targeting Christians. But the war on Christians is happening all over the world. Franklin Graham, in an interview for Fox News, confirms that “People are dying for their faith.” This is a must-see report.
For years, Voice of the Martyrs has declared a day of prayer for the persecuted church. Today is the 2014 International Day of Prayer, and I urge you to visit the IDOP website for testimonies and more information about how to pray specifically for those who face persecution because of their faith. Then, be sure to pray.
Finally, though this day has been designated as a day of prayer, why not make it a part of daily prayer? Those of us who live in freedom have absolutely no idea the high price our persecuted brothers and sisters pay. We may not be able to comprehend their plight, but the least we can do is pray for their health and safety, and ask God to use their testimony for the glory of His Kingdom.
Let’s pray!
