Franklin Graham Spearheads Worldwide Prayer Vigil for Saeed Abedini

Two years ago, Pastor Saeed Abedini, an American-Iranian Christian, was sentenced to prison in Iran for sharing his Christian faith.  He has been beaten, mocked, and threatened.  Currently, he is facing even more danger as ISIS terrorists also occupy the prison in which he is detained.

Today, Franklin Graham kicked off a worldwide prayer vigil for Pastor Saeed and other persecuted Christians around the world.  The event took place just outside the White House in Washington DC.  Tomorrow (September 26, 2014) marks the second anniversary of Pastor Saeed’s imprisonment, and Graham and Saeed’s wife, Naghmeh, are calling believers worldwide to join in prayer for the release of Saeed and other persecuted Christians.

Praying friends, Pastor Saeed is a remarkable man and I highly encourage you to check out the Be Heard Project website or the Pray for Pastor Saeed Abedini FaceBook  page.  On the Be Heard Project site, there is an incredible video of a letter Pastor Saeed wrote from prison.  You’ve got to see it to understand the heart of this man.  You can also read his story, sign a petition for his release, send an email to the Iranian President requesting Saeed’s release, or find a prayer vigil.

Will you commit to pray throughout the day tomorrow as the Lord brings Pastor Saeed to mind?  I’m praying that God brings him (and other persecuted Christians) to our minds continually…and that, as fellow Christians, we are committed to respond to our Lord in prayer.  He is a prayer-hearing, prayer-answering, miracle-working God, so let’s commit to join with hundreds of thousands at the foot of the Almighty’s throne!
