Hi Friends!  I want to share a current event that ties in with this week’s study.  Currently, we’re studying Israel’s miraculous war history and will end this week’s study answering the question, “Will Israel Stand Alone?”

Historically, the US has been a strong ally of Israel, but relations have been strained in recent years, as the US seems to sit idly by while Iran and their allies vow (and prepare) to wipe Israel off the map.

However, every two years Israel hosts joint exercises to train in missile defense.  The US European Command has sent about 1000 American troops and two ships equipped with the Aegis Combat System to join roughly 6000 European troops and Israeli troops in the joint exercise.  The training mission, dubbed “Juniper Cobra,” began earlier today.  (To read more, see “US, Israel kick off joint exercise to train troops in battling missiles.”)

Be encouraged, friends!  Despite the fact that all nations will one day abandon Israel, allied nations today are joining efforts to bolster Israel’s defense.  At least on this day, nations are standing on the correct side of God’s blessing….those who bless Israel will be blessed, those who curse Israel will be cursed.  (Genesis 12:3)
