A Post-Election Exhortation: Make America Godly Again

Now that the election is over, the initial excitement has settled, and we look forward to the conservative promises of the new Trump administration, it’s time to take a close look at reality and buckle up for the long haul and I’ll tell you exactly how you can be involved!

First and foremost, as Bible-believing citizens of America, there is lots to be thankful for. We didn’t get everything we hoped for in this year’s elections, but I certainly haven’t crossed paths with any conservatives who are fully disappointed in the outcome of US elections. From a Biblical perspective, it would be appropriate for us to be on our knees thanking Almighty God for continuing to pour out His grace on a nation so undeserving in so many ways. But for the remnant….! If you were a prayer warrior throughout the elections, thank you! I believe God has heard and honored your prayers!

Now a reality check and an exhortation of what we must do better if we hope to take advantage of the conservative movement that is hopefully sweeping the country:

  • So far, I have seen mixed reviews regarding the turnout of Christians at the polls. Some research indicates a continued lack of Christian involvement. However, I recently read that George Barna, the most highly-respected Christian pollster, found that “Christians made the difference.” But the news wasn’t all good. According to the same research, fewer self-identified Christians voted in 2024 than in 2020, yet those professing to hold a Biblical worldview in 2024 exceeded those of 2020. Holding a Biblical worldview is critical to upholding Biblical truth. Otherwise, “self-identified Christians” might well vote of non-Biblical truths. We must do a better job educating Christians on the Biblical mandate to engage civically, and to understand just how “Christian” our nation’s foundation was.
  • Aggressive abortion bills passed in almost every state in which that issue was on the ballot, including my home state of Arizona. Again, Christians failed to do what it takes at this moment in time to protect the unborn. That is unconscionable, and the Bible teaches that we will be accountable before God for not standing up and speaking on behalf of those who have no voice. As believers, we must solidify our faith according to God’s Word and we must speak up for babies being slaughtered in the womb.
  • There was not enough emphasis, and particularly not enough ballot measures, to protect young children from the ravages of the trans society that is sweeping our nation. It is NOT okay for decisions regarding chopping off body parts to be left to young boys and girls whose brains are not yet developed enough to make life-impacting decisions. We have handed our young people over to an education system that forces woke ideology down their throats. Believers must be active on school boards, in school board meetings, and in the principals’ offices when necessary. We can do a much better job educating parents, speaking forth truth and righteousness, and defending our kids…and we must!
  • The wars in the Middle East and Russia-Ukraine must end. While Israel is accused non-stop of genocide in Gaza, Russia is purposefully targeting large civilian population centers in Ukraine. Of course, I’m biased toward Israel and angry that Russia is allowed to kill people indiscriminately while Israel is threatened constantly by the UN, the ICC, and Antisemitic nations and groups, and there is a fight to be fought there. But the bottom line is: the wars need to end with appropriate measures so that those in impacted areas may live in peace without threat of terrorists or world powers unleashing missiles and rockets upon them.

Those are only a few points to consider, but each is a big deal. As Christians, there is much we can do. Here are some simple ways to engage your faith in the public square for the long haul:

  • Learn more about America’s founding from a Biblical perspective! Follow any of these wonderful American Constitutionalists:
  • Sign up for classes or full courses that focus on America’s Biblical roots and how we can reimplement them. Here are some fantastic options that I have personally gone through or have carefully reviewed:
    • Patriot Academy – featuring short courses on the Constitution and Biblical Citizenship. These are FANTASTIC, have no homework (except what you want to follow up on) and are very entertaining. You can take them online or look for a church or organization near you who is hosting a course. I HIGHLY recommend these classes!
    • Hillsdale College Politics courses – learn about the Constitution, America’s founding, The Federalist Papers, how Congress works and many other courses FREE online.
  • Consider starting a TP Faith chapter at your church (or at least get involved with one at a nearby church). This grassroots initiative was founded by Charlie Kirk and his Turning Point organization. They will provide help in getting you started, and speakers to help get the ball rolling. A Faith chapter allows you to build momentum with believers in your church so that we don’t continue to face lack of Christian involvement in the civic arena. It’s a great way to build fellowship as well!

Believe it or not, resources are endless, so no believer who takes seriously the mandate to live out his faith in every area of life has the excuse of “I don’t know where to begin.” Pick one of the above and dive in! Let’s make America Godly again…our version of MAGA!
