What is Our Responsibility as Christians?

When talking about responsibilities of Christians, we could go a dozen different directions. But today, we’ll put it in context of civic engagement.

According to My Faith Votes, 1 in 3 Christians typically fail to cast votes in major elections. I find that appalling. As believers and followers who love our Lord Jesus, we should work toward creating cities, states and nations that glorify Him. Instead, what we are getting in America are leaders hell bent on murdering babies, transing our kids, and destroying the country that was built upon Biblical principles and values.

By NOT voting, a person is actually voting for godlessness. To say nothing and do nothing in the face of evil is to condone it. Voddie Bacham further explains:

Christian friends, if you are one who has not been faithful at the voting booth, this is not an attempt to “guilt” you for not doing so. Grace abounds! But I do pray you will consider the importance of living out your faith, even at the ballot box. Our country is in dire need and if every Christian voted their values, most city, state and nation elections would not even be close!

As believers, we have the ability to change the course of American history. Radical leftists changed it for the worse, putting our nation in a death spiral. Let’s commit to help restore our nation to the Biblical foundation upon which it was born. We have the numbers…we just need every Christian to engage.

BTW – there are many organizations helping to mobilize Christians in the paths of righteousness for our country. My Faith Votes is a grassroots organization, easy to plug into, and provides guidance to those seeking to fight for our country. Check them out and see if there is a role you can play.
