It seems end times have always been a fascination. Today, even the secular world talks about Armageddon and a catastrophic end to life as we know it on this planet. It was no different in Jesus’ day. His disciples asked Him more than once about end times. Jesus provided a thorough response in Matthew 24 and described the mindset of man during the end times in Luke 17:
27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; 29 but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.
~Luke 17:27-30
Sounds a lot like today, doesn’t it! Except that not only are some going through life as though nothing unusual is happening, evil has risen its ugly head to new heights as we deal with corruption, lawlessness and deceit, the likes of which we have not seen or heard about since the days of Noah. God judged the earth with water at that time, and the Bible says He will judge it with fire the next time. (2 Peter 3:5-6) Get ready, because it’s coming!
Corruption, lawlessness and deceit seem to be everywhere we look:
- World leaders, including our own US administration, are entwined in blatant corruption.
- Big tech, big pharma and big government perpetuate corrupt schemes that impact the entire world. (Examples: China infected the entire world with a deadly virus and took no responsibility for it, drug manufacturers continue to push out vaccines known to cause harm and nothing is done about it, and media continues to ban conservative thoughts and ideas.)
- Uncontrolled crime (even violent crime) goes unpoliced in many cities around the globe.
- Open borders in the US allow criminals to enter unhindered, while trafficking women and children and pumping illegal drugs into our country. (Destruction of the only world power founded on Biblical principles is definitely part of the globalist agenda.)
- In many US states, accused criminals walk free with no bail prior to trial, and are often given piddly sentences once convicted, while concerned parents voicing concerns at school board meetings are arrested.
- The radical left continually pushes transgender and abortion agendas at the expense of murdering or mutilating children.
- Leaders constantly lie to the world and are rarely held accountable. (“Our nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.” “We’re winning the war against Russia, we just need more American money.” “I never talked to my son about his business deals.” “Electric vehicles are better for the environment.” “The border is closed.”)
Yesterday we focused on weather events that align with Bible prophecy and noted that, if weather events were the only thing pointing to fulfillment of Bible prophecy, perhaps we could chalk it up to simply unusual weather patterns. Likewise, if corruption, lawlessness and deception were the only things lining up with prophecy, perhaps an argument could be made that it is just a bad time in history.
But when many different end time prophecies are fulfilled simultaneously, we are wise to consider the confluence of those prophesies as fulfillment of what the Bible says will occur in the last days.
We’ll add to our list tomorrow when we take a look at what is happening in the church. See you then!
