Truth seems more elusive than ever, doesn’t it? In fact, truth seems non-existent while lies propagate ubiquitously. Politicians lie to us. (“Our economy is in great shape!”) Scientists lie to us. (“We did not engage in gain of function research.”) Big pharma lies to us. (“Vaccines work! If you take it, you can’t get COVID, nor can you spread it.”) Big tech lies to us. (“We’re all for freedom of speech.”) The top brass in the military lies to us. (“Wokism makes us safer.”) Should I go on?

Truth seems to be lost, as it was when Jesus stood trial before Pilate, who really wanted nothing to do with Him. Servants of the high priest, wanting Jesus crucified, delivered Him up to Pilate, accusing Him of being an evildoer, but Pilate told them to judge Jesus themselves. They hid behind the excuse that it is unlawful for them to put anyone to death. Reluctantly, Pilate asked Jesus if He was king of the Jews, but I don’t think he was expecting the answer he got!

³⁷ Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?”

Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”

³⁸ Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no fault in Him at all.”

~John 18:37-38

Jesus came into the world to bear witness to the truth. It was His mission! In fact, in John 14:6, Jesus said, “I am the way, the TRUTH, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” [Emphasis mine.] Jesus was the embodiment of truth.

The Bible tells us deception and delusion will reign upon the earth in the last days. (2 Thessalonians 2:9-11) Where deception and delusion reign, truth seems to disappear, and boy is our world filled with deception and delusion today!

But Jesus is truth, and we must know Him in order to know truth! Otherwise, we are stuck in a trap of unbelief that will cost us all of eternity in a real place called hell. We need a great big, king-size dose of truth, and we’re here to deliver today!
