How are we to view the things around us in view of Bible prophecy? Well, Jesus gave us a pretty good glimpse of what we can expect during end times. Check out what He told His disciples on the Mt of Olives when they asked what to expect in the last days:

⁴ And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. ⁵ For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. ⁶ And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. ⁷ For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. ⁸ All these are the beginning of sorrows.

~Matthew 24:4-8

That’s a fairly extensive list yet is nowhere close to exhaustive. Throughout his writings, Paul gives us even more clues. But, we’re not focused today on how extensive the list is. I want to focus on one specific item Jesus referred to above: pestilences (fatal endemic diseases).

We’ve all survived the COVID pandemic, yet most of us know many who perished during the previous COVID years. All signs point to another round of COVID looming on the horizon. So, how should we as believers and followers of Jesus Christ respond to it?

Believe what you will, but there seems credible evidence of the weaponization of the virus. It was used to shut down houses of worship while marijuana dispensaries and brothels were allowed to remain open. It kicked a dent in the door of American churches, and it put millions of American citizens under tyrannical mandates, regardless of their risk factor. Similar things happened in countries around the world.

We’re now learning that statistics are not bearing out the theories that all are at risk, vaccines work, or masks are effective. As citizens in general, and as Christians in particular, it is time to stand up for our religious freedom (no more church lockdowns) and our medical freedom (we get to choose our own options of medical care).

Why is this important, and what does it have to do with end times? Everything! If we believe the Bible is true, we know there are evil forces in this world, and that they up their game as the end draws near. People are controlled by evil will follow along with the agenda of Satan and the Antichrist (who will soon appear).

As for the weaponization of COVID, we must take back our medical freedom and NOT become puppets of the rising evil empire. How do we do that? Know your rights and don’t be afraid to stand on them!
