As followers of Jesus, aren’t you glad we serve a God with whom we can relate? He knows us intimately (Psalm 139) and invites us to know Him intimately as well (John 17). He even encourages us to call Him up! (Jeremiah 33:3) In fact, the only way to truly know Jesus is to have a personal relationship with Him. One in which we acknowledge Him as Lord and Savior and put our trust in Him personally.
So, in these modern times, do we pick up the phone and literally call Him? Of course not. But we have His Word that speaks directly to us as we seek Him, and we have prayer, a powerful means of two-way communication. We praise, worship and adore Him in between supplications for our needs. He lavishes truth, goodness and kindness upon us in between correction when we go astray!
Today there is a very alarming transition taking place. The powers of darkness with whom we battle (Ephesians 6:12) are rising up more blatantly than ever to twist what God has spoken, in order to make it “more human.” In case you’re wondering, making things of God “more human” is a downgrade, and a dangerous one at that!
Part of that transition is to insert modern means of communication into God’s design. He communicates with us via His Word and prayer (with occasional confirmation from other trusted, Godly people), yet in the name of Christianity, some are now promoting artificial intelligence (AI) as a means of chatting with God! That implies that some “intelligent being” has figured out the ways of God and have programmed apps to communicate with us as if they are god!
No, I am not kidding! Here is the latest: Do You Want to Chat with Jesus or Moses? Biblical AI App I’m sorry, but there is nothing “Biblical” about an app like that! It is deceptive, suggesting you can trade in God’s Word for man-made “comfort, guidance and inspiration!”

But wait…it gets worse! The “Chat with Jesus” app also has a setting allowing the user to chat with Satan as well! And what a deceptive light is cast:

Deception from the pit of hell!
Do you see how quickly things slide immediately downhill? First, an innocent-sounding (though not so innocent) app to talk to Jesus, followed immediately by opportunities to converse with Satan himself! And the app was supposed created by Christians and for Christians!
The enemy has no originality or ability to create on his own, therefore he must take what God creates (in this case, communication with our sovereign God) and twist it into something demonic. Forget about relationship, which is the glue that binds us together with our Savior. To be “spiritual” today, all you need to do is text with Jesus or chat with Satan.
Dear friends, please understand…that IS spiritual. It just happens to be in the opposite spiritual dimension than that of a personal relationship with the Living God who died to pay for our sins and rose again to provide a way of salvation! You will never find that via an app!
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
~Ephesians 6:10-13
Satan’s minions (principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, spiritual hosts of wickedness) have been unleashed and deception is their weapon of choice. We must stand in the whole armor of God to withstand the onslaught, of which we are only seeing the tip of the iceberg.
Are you equipped to stand? How easily will you be deceived by things that appear “spiritual,” but not related to the One True God? This example may seem obvious to us, but rest assured, deception always grows more devious and harder to detect, and Scripture warns it will be rampant in the last days. The ONLY way to stand firm and to discern deception is to be steadfast in God’s Word and in prayer…the means of communication He established with us.
The enemy will never be able to break that code!
