Welcome back friends! As we consider signs of the times, we began with good news yesterday. Today, though, we’ll consider more sinister happenings that are quickly becoming normal and expected.

2 Thessalonians 2:7,9 tells us the mystery of lawlessness is at work, according to the work of Satan. What was once astounding and unimaginable is now common in everyday life. Here in America, we are watching particularly “blue cities” losing every vestige of law enforcement. Most are incredibly understaffed, and many of those cities have decided crime is not worth policing. It is true in dozens of American cities, such as Chicago, San Francisco, Oakland, San Diego, Portland, Philadelphia, and our nation’s capital. Nor are foreign cities immune to chaos. (Paris, Durban, and London, for example.)

Indeed, chaos reigns. But as believers, we have nothing to fear. Prophecy is being fulfilled and that should excite us if we are looking for the Blessed Hope! As we fix our eyes on Jesus, the One who endured the cross on our behalf (Hebrews 12:2), we can be sure He will faithfully lead us home at the appointed time!

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. ² In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. ³ And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

Rest assured, my friends. Nothing takes Jesus by surprise, and He will be faithful to His promises. We will continue to see evil surge in our world, but in the midst of it, we will also come to know His faithfulness in deeper measure. To avoid being drawn into fear, press into Him!
