How do you Make a Desert Bloom?

 שלום חברים

Shalom Chaverim!

In Hebrew (read right-to-left), “Shalom” (שלום) means hello, good-bye, or peace.  So, when in Israel and you don’t know what to say…. “Shalom” will always work!  “Chaverim” = friends.  Thus, my greeting is “Hello Friends!”

For about a year-and-a-half I have studied Hebrew and can’t wait to get to Israel and speak their language!  I’m far from fluent, but could probably get myself around the country in Hebrew if no one spoke English there.  (They all do!)

מיים is water, and Israel definitely knows how to make the very most of her limited water supply.  More than half of Israel is desert, yet they have figured out how to make dry, barren land bloom!  I hope you’ll take a few minutes to check out the video linked below.  It is fascinating, and provides a unique insight into Israeli ingenuity.  (Check out yesterday’s blog for the first of these magnificent videos!)  Here is the link:

 Made in Israel: Water

Less than a week from departure!  Shalom….and thanks for stopping by!
