Fun Facts…Israel’s Climate and Weather

Hi Friends…welcome back!

I’m sharing a few fun facts about Israel and today we’ll consider Israel’s climate and weather.

We see the hand of God in every aspect of this special nation!  He has positioned Israel in an interesting place between a sea (the Mediterranean) and a desert.  Throw in some altitude differences and you can expect to see skiers on Mt Hermon in the far north, and swimmers in the Red Sea in the far south.  Keep in mind that Israel is a small nation, but features:

  • Mediterranean area – hot summers, rainy winters
  • Coastal plain – humid summers, comfortable winters
  • Mountain areas – dry summers, cold winters
  • Southern and Eastern deserts – hot and dry much of the year with substantial day-night temperature differences
  • Between desert and Mediterranean – semi-arid, transitional climate

If averages hold true, we expect temperatures in the 60’s while we tour.  Though rain is possible, Israel’s rainy season is typically around December-January.  Often wildflowers are in bloom while we are there, and the anemones are absolutely beautiful!

It seems the Lord takes great delight in showing off His creativity in this tiny country!  Tomorrow I’ll give you more fun facts that declare the glory of God!

Be blessed, my friends!  Thanks for stopping by!
