Find Out Why the Palestinians Refused Medical Aid from UAE

In the most recent example of “cut off your nose to spite your face,” the Palestinian Authority has denied medical aid from the United Arab Emirates.

On Tuesday (May 19), the first known commercial flight from the UAE landed at Ben Gurion airport in Israel with a special delivery: 16 tons of COID-19-related medical aid to the Palestinian Authority. However, according to the Times of Israel (and other news outlets), the shipment was rejected because Ramallah refused to be a “tool of normalization” between Israel and the UAE. In response, Iran’s Ayatollah said this:

Israel and the UAE have no formal diplomatic ties, though back channel discussions regarding their mutual distrust of Iran have likely occurred more and more frequently in recent years.

Get more details of the story here.

What does all this mean in light of Scripture? For one, it is another evidence that Israel will not live in peace until the Prince of Peace comes to rule and reign. (That occurs after the rapture and the tribulation, during the Millennial Kingdom.) Secondly, it seems to corroborate the idea that only those people groups named in Ezekiel 38 will come against Israel in a great invasion from the north…not all Arab countries.

Meanwhile, C-19 continues to hog headlines while the situation in the Middle East becomes increasingly unstable. Within a few weeks it is believed that Israel will declare sovereignty over most of Judea and Samaria, the Biblical heartland. Could that create greater conflict in the region? Most believe so, as the Palestinian Authority, with the backing of Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas, could react very strongly (or not at all!)

Israel is on high alert these days. Militarily, the IDF is prepared for what may come, but what will eventually come is as much a spiritual battle as it is a military one. Pray for Israel and her soldiers. Valiantly they have fought time-after-time-after-time, yet in the soon-coming invasion from the north, the Bible says the Lord Himself will take care of business on Israel’s behalf. (Read Ezekiel 38-39)

Our job remains the same: pray for Israel (Psalm 122, Isaiah 62), stand with Israel, and share Jesus every chance you get!
