Friends, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, and I pray the celebration of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, impacted you in a special way this year.
Since our tour to Israel in November, the Lord has given me such a heart for pastors who minister in Israel. Arab, Palestinian and Messianic pastors and their congregations have unique challenges there, yet many of them “get it” in a way we just don’t in America.
Our tour group would agree that one of our greatest blessings was hearing from pastors on the front lines of ministry there, and we were absolutely blown away by their faith and commitment to be the hands and feet of Jesus in a very difficult place. I just received a newsletter from Pastor Saleem Shalash, an Arab pastor in Nazareth who is so on fire for the Lord, one might get singed standing next to him!
Pastor Saleem and his congregation are a prime example of how the Lord is moving in Nazareth, the city of Jesus’ childhood. This Christmas, they ministered to young and old, in many different ways. Now, THAT is Christmas! Read and enjoy for yourself:
Be sure to click on the video within that newsletter! What a joyful time!
PS: Pastor Saleem and his church are believing the Lord has a plan for them far beyond their means. While there, Pastor Saleem had a meeting the next day with a real estate agent who is trying to acquire a large $10M piece of property. Currently owned by another religious group who has offered it for pennies on the dollar, but is opposed to selling to evangelical Christians, negotiations continue. Meanwhile, Home of Jesus Christ the King Church (pastored by Saleem), is attempting to raise funds to be able to purchase that magnificent property which sits on a hill. They have asked us to consider supporting them in two very important ways:
- Prayer! If you are a prayer warrior, will you go to your war room and pray on behalf of Pastor Saleem, his congregation, the religious group selling the property, and all parties involved? They are seeking the Lord’s will, so let’s pray alongside them!
- Financially. Property is very expensive in Israel and Pastor Saleem has incredible plans for the property on the hill. But they need help. If you are looking for a place to invest some year-end giving, please consider Pastor Saleem and his church. Tax deductible donations can be made on behalf of Pastor Saleem at One Mission Society.
Let’s get a running start on 2020 by praying for and supporting God’s work in Israel! This is a tax-deductible opportunity, so if you are interested, get it done before midnight December 31 in order to deduct it on 2019 taxes.
